Career bio
I’m the founder of Mum PR, established after 16 years as a journalist in print media. As a reporter, I covered everything from general news, to features, business, entertainment, health/beauty and even sport. My roles also included leading newspaper campaigns, chief of staff and chief copy sub. Among the highlights were covering national music events, television launches and interviewing national and international celebrities (the perks!). Along with photography and freelance work, I had a weekly radio segment on a commercial station. In early January I took a (huge) leap into the world of blogging, with the personal blog having since grown at a rapid rate. The reason? Numerous marketing initiatives and a strong knowledge of social media. The plan was always to start a PR business at the end of the year, but life has had other plans. It was actually blogging which led to Mum PR starting up a little earlier than expected. In just a few months, it’s already amassed a bevy of clients, who have gained media coverage in national news publications and online. Throughout my career, I’ve prided myself on my organisational skills, attention to detail and writing prowess.
About Me
I’m married to a newspaper Acting Editor (yes, can’t escape the media even if I tried) and have two li’l princesses. Ella, 3, is ruler of the house, loves dancing and comes out with ridiculously funny lines, which is inevitable when she talks as much as she does. Holly is eight months and is a real giggle pot who loves boobie juice... but not sleep. I love how Mum PR is giving me the flexibility of working, while staying home with the girls. After all, I only get one shot at this job!
